late to the party
stuck with nothing but misery

i thought i wouldn't sleep in
today i finally would win
but my phone woke up dead
and i had nothing to send
for i was late to the party
stuck with nothing but misery
i had been planning for a while
but i took it like a child
thinking nothing would go wrong
how i long for my alarm's song
for i was late to the party
stuck with nothing but misery
a second glance on the clock
to realize its important ad hoc
i had been ahead the whole time
by more than just a dime
sighing, smiling, laughing
standing tall and chuckling
for i was early to the party
stuck with nothing but irony

poetryinwaiting
I love all things writing...though I am particularly biased towards good, vulnerable poetry. I love pouring my heart on a page with every piece I write. Life is for expressing, not containing.
