Last night, I spoke lovingly,

To a friend I’ve never seen before.

She spoke swiftly,

And acted naturally, with the same speed.

Make love.

Last night, I spoke lovingly,

To a friend I don’t even know.

He turned away with a smile –

Happy, but not looking back.

Take love.

Last night, I spoke lovingly,

To a dream I’ve never dreamed before.

It stayed all night,

And made me warm.

Give love.

Last night, I wept,

Because my fellow man was still warring and killing.

No matter how I pleaded,

No one, but no one would,

Live Love.

Why is it so hard to just live love?
