Lambda Theta Alpha

Of any sorority that I ever had

the pleasure of collaborating with

My best times were spent with

Lambda Theta Alpha,

they’re totally my favorite

Could never forget

the day I was first

introduced to them at Grey Mirror

in Fall 2019, the organization

has always welcomed

me with open arms

as I highlighted the work

they’ve done on

campus in the newsletter

Each of the Lovely Ladies

are dazzling in both departments

of beauty and personality

How could I forget that

open mic they had the

first week of March

at Cougar’s Den?

Those performers blew my mind,

crowd received us well enough to

plaster our acts over social media

To relive that night again,

I’d go through more than hell for it

Now, let me explain to you

Lambda Theta Alpha’s significance

It all started on December 1,

1975 at Kean University – Union

as the first Latina sorority in the

United States to address the needs

of Hispanic women worldwide

by 17 founding mothers

going by the mottos:

“Universal Women. Redefining Sisterhood”

“Women there are Many, Ladies there are Few”

La Perla, La Concha, La Luna,

La Palma for symbols

Lambda Theta Alpha believes

in unity, love and respect

If you don’t think that’s true,

then ask the 160 and

counting established

undergraduate chapters across

the U.S. and Puerto Rico

Lambda Theta Alpha wants

to see woman triumph

Push through the envelopes

attempting to wilt

her rose for so long

Drop her umbrella

Disregard her existence

Lambda Theta Alpha uplifts us all

Hearing this from a man who isn’t

even affiliated with Greek orgs

Lambda Theta Alpha is that heart

pumping more than blood

It pumps vitality, confidence

Elegance, liberty and justice
