Lady Eleanor
My Muse Is My Mystical Guide
I recently watched the BBC Documentary on Alan Hull presented by Sam Fender and they said thst Alan wrote “Lady Eleanor '' after reading Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Fall Of The House Of Usher '' while working in a home for people with mental problems. I should have realised that from the opening lyrics , and probably did , so although it’s late I have to write a poem taking this song as a lead. Hope you enjoy this.
The documentary can be seen here but may be UK only so apologies.
Here’s how the song opens:
Bashee playing magician sitting lotus on the floor
Belly dancing beauty with a power driven saw
Had my share of nightmares, didn't think there could be much more
Then in walked Rodrick Usher with the Lady Eleanor
And here is my poem

I walk in ghostly hallways
Where I take an unseen hand
She is my lady always
Her magic spells who I am
Ѱ
My Lady Eleanor Is
The Only One That I Love
Her Beauty Gives One More Kiss
Summons Magic From Above
Ѱ
We’re in a reality
That I Will Surely Not leave
She will always be here with me
Protecting Me , and She Sees
Our Future Is Together
A Magical Forever

I love that I get the Sam Fender reference :) Loved the poem you wrote in response to those lyrics!
