Almost always seen
As society dredges
Most folks despite them
Ladies of the night
Angels who watch over us
They are always there
In times of hardship
In times of celebration
In times of despair
They will share your pain
They will share your happiness
They will share your load
They do not judge you
They will bring you some solace
During your struggles
Not all is glory
Alcohol and drugs are used
To survive this hell
Some will mistreat them
Justifying their actions
Using false morals
Some will not pay them
Some will insult and beat them
While some will rape them
Kidnapped and murdered
The government still denies
Decent protection
When it becomes news
In the name of decency
We all look elsewhere
And claim they brought this
On themselves, slut shaming them
Belittling them all
