Kindness

Floods are still raging in the country.

The rain wouldn't listen

Pouring wrath

Destroyed all they've built

Hunger killing the homeless

Fear, spreading like an epidemic

Bodies shivering inside the wet clothes

Nature has never been so cruel

Riches drowned in floodwaters

Life's the only asset still floating

Can I go there to save lives?

I don't know how to swim

Can I give shelter?

I don't have a house to call home

Can | end starvation?

My crops have died long ago

Can I beg for mercy?

My prayers will go unheard

Shall I wash my sins in the river?

I can be grateful to be alive

Perhaps simple acts of kindness

Only can save me from sinking to the bottom
