Just a moment to feel the wind, to feel the breath, to feel life.

Always running,
even though I don't like running.
Trying to get ahead.
Ahead of the game, ahead of myself.
Running so fast I don't know what I'm running towards.
Or maybe I'm running away?
Running towards a new project, a new person, a new achievement.
Running away from expectation, reality, myself.
My soul is tapping on my shoulder,
begging me to stay awhile.
Stay for just a moment to feel the wind, to feel the breath, to feel life.
I'm not paying attention though.
My eyes are set forward.
Set on a target that is retracting deeper into the distance.
Soon I won't know where I am,
and my soul will be too far behind to help.
And I'll be wishing that I stayed for just a moment to feel the wind, to feel the breath, to feel life.
