A poem of trying

A jaded heart, so cold and hard ripped through with your diamond words

A jaded heart, so precious and guarded, brought down by your chiseled lust

A jaded heart beats once again, slowly turning to clay in your well trained hand

A jaded heart, so happy and content- to be molded and formed by your intent.

You created a masterpiece- long lost beauty for the eye of the beholders

You created a treasure, plated in gold and inlaid with love overflowing

Little by little, you held this heart to the flame- the flame of your past, the flame of your present

Little by little this beauty, it melted away – little by little it hardened, that beautiful clay

The clay started crumbling – beneath the flames of your fire

'till all that was left was the remnants of desire

As the dust fully lifted, and the tides had all shifted

All that was left was a jaded hard heart
