Ivy Glen
"We drive down Ivy Glen, wind blowing in our faces and I think back to when I thought I could keep pace –"
We drive down Ivy Glen,
wind blowing in our faces
and I think back to when
I thought I could keep pace –
——
I thought I could keep pace.
——
Laughing in the dark,
we speed down Sugar Plum Lane
until we reach the park
and dreams bubble up like champagne.
——
I ran away on Oak Street,
I told you this is too much for me
I didn't mean to taste so bittersweet
to you, I want to be nobody.
——
I–I just couldn't keep pace.
——
Now,
we sit in silence
driving down Ivy Glen.
