It's All for Them
an original poem by Jason White
He is a soldier poised with pride
A warrior who stands tall
A man with the weight
Of the world upon his shoulders
Under his facade
Which changes his name from
Man to Soldier
He is just a man trying to survive
He lives with the pain in his heart
With the blood upon his hands
That will never wash off
He hears the pleas
Of those lives he takes
He kills for the ones he loves
For his family
Yet he looks into their eyes
As they shy away
They fear him
Because he hides his demons away
Yet if he let them look upon them
His demons would be unleashed
And they'd run, far far away
So every day
He changes from struggling Man
To proud Soldier
Hoping that someday they understand
It is all for them.

Searching for You
I went searching for you. My third eye blind. So, I passed you by so many times. I felt you, so vaguely. So many times. I faintly felt you so close by. But I couldn't trust the knowledge of my true self. I looked your way. Eyes meeting so briefly. A calm washing over my very being. A calm so foreign that I ran in fear. Running from the life meant for me. Now I search for you once again. Searching for the second half of my soul. Have you been reincarnated as somebody else? Or am I still not seeing well?

Midnight
60 seconds… 59 seconds… Time was slipping through his fingers, though he clawed at the falling grains of sand, he could not stop the hourglass from flowing. Around him, the silence was deafening. He had taken over every screen in the command centre, putting the terrible seconds before the terrified eyes of his friends and comrades.
