It Happen One Night

A murder, A murder, A murder they cried

their screams filling the night sky

"Oh, how could something happen so evil and vile"

At that moment a hush fell over our crowd

For they heard a scream so terrible and loud

A young woman came running from the chambers with tears

spilling down her face

"Isn't that Betty?" someone asked

“I believe it is just earlier today she was throwing the confetti

now look at her all disheveled and sweaty"

"Please everyone we must leave this awful place

at once

The duke has been killed” she screamed falling to the ground

Rumors soon started swirling around

"You think it was a blade"

"Hmm maybe but I would have used nightshade"

The crowd watched in dismay as the duke’s body was carried away

Whispers of betrayal being cast about

And yet no one noticed that Betty had quietly slipped out

fact or fiction
