Irish Eyes

Smiling

Keep those Irish eyes smiling

Though they’re sunken and tired

Tomorrow brings a new light

Let those hungry eyes catch a fire

May the fields feel the rain

And may you reap what you sow

Fill your stomach and empty your heart

Let the ones you love know

Good friends don’t come often

And lovers even less

But those Irish eyes will always be smiling

Until the day that they rest

A contagious smile always has smiling eyes above it. The older the smile is the more beautiful it is. Those who have lived through triumph and defeat, love and loss can cast joy through their gaze.

Beautiful words our smile reflect what is in our hearts, the storms in our lives clear the way ahead, our sagacity drawn from our encounters and experiences.
