Do I belong here?

A question I ask

each time

I feel out of place.

Do you see me?

Am I invisible?

Please,

answer me.

I don't want to feel

that I'm unwanted here.

Are you talking about me

behind my back?

I can hear the whispers,

though you deny them.

Trying to ignore the thoughts

occupying my mind

convincing me that

no one wants me around.

This poem was written based on a prompt I got from the Daily Prose app. Todays prompt was about dealing with an insecurity one may have. For this poem, I chose how I always feel invisible around certain people.
