Into a Mist (What Should Have Changed?)

Remembering a past love can sometimes fade away.

What did not change,

and should have changed?

What did change,

and should have not happened?

-

I tried to convince you

to buy into my utopian plan

a million times

but it was you who would always

convinced me otherwise

a trillion times

-

Those days are long gone

and past into a fog

I was wrong about you

or maybe about this guy

inside myself that pretends

to smile and be happy

-

Only words can cause pain

memories do too

This fog lingers around

making me regret what did not change

or if it did change

-

It was so nice touching your skin

and being alone with you

Some details have now

been forgotten

the fog took them all

-

It must have been a word or two

that made those last days

go into a mist

-
