Inner child
We are what we are made to believe
The child within
What is it you seek child within
What is it your heart wants to begin
What are your hopes and your dreams
What are the pains you seek to release
What are the stories the characters that play
What do you believe that has been said or nayed
What brings you the greatest joy
Why do you feel sadness so
Who has said these words to you
Do you believe them
Are they true
Often we carry such pain around
For we are told sternly under loves guise that it is how we are being found
But truth be told it is not to be true
For these words are like venom poisoning our youth
The words for adults are words
But for children they feel them by the score
They feel and do not understand
So they believe it to be truth and carry it throughout their inner lands
Words are like weapons
They inflict pain
Words are our wands to be used as we dare
What if for a moment a pause before the storm
You stop and you ask your own inner child where this comes from
What if before you react outwardly to it all, you check in with your own inner child
Is that child crying, reacting to this?
Is it frozen and cannot cry?
Does that inner child need to be loved and held
Or does that inner child feel like it's about to die
Is your own inner child feeling like this
Perhaps a hug and some playtime will ease some of this
Perhaps in that moment the child in front of you knows that your inner child needs some love
Some nurturing nourishing play.
Do not underestimate the child's feelings in the moment.
It maybe exactly what your own inner child needs most .
Children do not see through the lens of adults minds or eyes
They feel through their senses and don't understand the results.
So when next you wish to react in the moment of time
Ask your inner child what it is it needs and why.
Feel if this is true
Then try out some playtime
Let your inner child run free
