Inner Battles of Good & Evil
By Brianna Galligan
Of angels and demons, I've witnessed a few
Disguised in various clothing.
You blink and they change as if they're deranged
And waver from loving to loathing.
They'll whisper sweet nothings alone in your ears
While quietly plotting to harm you.
They'll scoff and they'll tear and whatever they care
And grow kind just to alarm you.
You'll think you've gone mad as they change good to bad,
Disrupting your world in its turning.
"Crazy" they'll call to convince you of all
Their destruction is simply your learning.
Still you'll try and you'll fail with each little tale
To understand why this occurs.
Why they chose you out of quite more than few
And left you to only infer.
No message to guide will stand by your side
To hold your hand and lead you.
You'll struggle and learn if just to discern
That you are the one who will need you.
They'll coddle and chide yet maliciously hide
All facts from you for their cruel reasons.
So stand still and tall and know after all
You are stronger than angels and demons.
