Inadequate

Icy embrace

Inadequate;

Subconscious chains that cling to the floor with warmth and comfort.

Skyward is the goal, but full of frigid air and blowing wind.

Why not embrace the chains of comfort, and choose the acceptable?

Comforting the chains are, but they continue to pull ever downward against the stone.

Surging to escape the brittle chains are broken, and the gelid discomfort is embraced.

//

A whisper.

A suggestion of failure.

Snapping strings on a worn puppet.

Familiar chains hiss forward with the thoughts of disappointment as the ground rapidly ascends.

//

Inadequate;

The repressive storm cloud that makes the light-ray from the window a frozen dagger.

Throw open the door, charge into the light.

The sun is glorious, the beams crash over and around like waves on a sandy beach.

Freedom in the pursuit of goals and expression.

//

Rejection.

Stirrings of discomfort.

The storm cloud brews and darkens, the light is gleaming - though the horizon is fast approaching.

The blinding and sudden lightning strike darkens the peaceful sunshine.

//

Inadequate:

The discomfort in one’s own skin of never being good enough.

The pain of being rejected.

The pain of dedication, sweat, blood, time, but not measuring up.

//

Inspiration to seek for the arctic embrace of a spotlight must continually endure the whispered judgments of the armed crowd.
