To you, I may seem naïve--
As though I wear my heart on my sleeve,
I'm in love with everything
It's the safest way I know how to be…
Because I've been the Jaded, I've been the Unimpressed
I've felt the rope around my neck,
Been to hell and back again,
Considered the benefits of The End
And decided I'm not There yet.
There's still too much for me to see
Possibilities I can believe,
All these Moments, how they almost weren't.
I choose to turn away from torment–
I've had Enough,
Why would I go there with consent?
I'm searching for freedom,
Not misery.
I look at the world and see
A changing leaf,
The kindest eyes,
A billion billion scattered stars in skies.
I could find the darkness
Behind every light
But I've pulled myself out of the pit
And it's far too easy for me to fall for it,
But so exhilarating to fly.
