Distracted by doubts, no matter how much praise you receive

Imposter syndrome makes friends with fatigue and exhaustion

Serial stalker that it is, this evil shadow-self lies in wait

To pounce at your most vulnerable moment

Regardless of how many demons youโ€™ve faced down

Admonishment ambushes and abuses

Catches you unawares and unprepared

Torches your dreams and, relentless, kills

Inspiration, motivation, imagination

Optimism drowned in blood pooled in a hurt heart

Negation needs to come fast, vital action to destroy such nonsense distraction

One of the things I love most about poetry is how raw and honest you can be. This one gets down to the root of pain, drowning optimism. Well done, Harmony.
