If I Were Someone Different

unfinished poem...

If I were someone different, much less timid, more like you

I'd walk chin high towards what i want, on no one else's cue.

If I were someone different, just how different would I be?

I'd be the veil of beauty that conceals my insecurity.

If I were someone different, would you love me even more?

Would you hold my heart and say I was the one worth waiting for?

If I were someone different would a smile grace my face?

A real smile, not just the standard one that's plastered in its place.

Can I be someone different so that I could feel love too?

Love and lust and dreams and anger, joy of every hue.

Can I be someone different? Someone who knows what happy is?

Different happy...I want that. To have it for as long as I live...
