I’m sorry

I wish I was faster to get to you

To take care of you

To hold you

I’m sorry that I am only a man

A little man

A human man

I’m sorry that you are so far

And I am so slow

That you are so high

And I am so…

Trying to fly I am

Though I’m such a killjoy

I am trying to soar

But a man is all that I am

A boy still

A human boy

I have fought in the woods

And slept on the ground

I have forced so many sleepless nights

So many, too many times,

I miss the hope I had

The potential I saw when I first met you

I miss the youth I had

The fire that was kindled as we grew

But is it all for naught

That I haven't made it beyond my bonds?

For I know I am only a weak man

A little man

A human man

I regret my mistakes

I regret not being smarter

It is bittersweet to think of you

The joy only wishes I could work harder

What I wished I could do, I am not so sure I can

I want to reach you

I promise I really really do

But I am only man

A little man

My Lady Lois,

Only a human man
