I feel the fire in your words

I have cracks that reach right through me

I have a light in my eyes that flickers

And smiles laced with sadness

I have dreams that don’t manifest and

I have small bones that are fragile

I have words that I wish had never escaped my mouth

But

I have love deeper than ever

I have reflection like a clear lake

I have hands tender for building and for holding you

And ears built to embrace your deepest corners

I have eyes to show me my light when I’ve lost it

I have a heart to carry me wherever I need to go
