-Sitting here alone at night
-In a tiny apartment,
-I find myself talking to God and
-Telling Him I don’t need a man;
-I can do life on my own!
-I’m an independent woman,
-Who doesn’t need a man.
-I was raised to be strong
-And can do it on my own.
-God said, “Just wait—I’ve got someone
-Just for you. Wait til you meet the person I have for you.”
-He told me all about you.
-It sounded all amazing —
-But I wondered how could a person like you love a person like me?
-We come from two different tracks;
-How could two people like us fall in love?
-Then, you were there, just like He said—
-And you loved me from the start.
-How could it be possible for a
Man like you to love a woman like me?
-How can I let a man like you into my heart
-Because I’m a strong woman who doesn’t need a man!
-I can do life on my own!
-A man like you has the patience of Job
To love a woman like me.
-I gave you a thousand reasons not to stay.
-I was bound and determined to be an
Independent woman;
-But your love softened my heart.
-You said, “I want your heart.”
-I said, “Break my walls baby.
-Take the hammer and break the walls of my heart.”
-You took the hammer —
-And shattered the walls of this independent woman who didn’t need a man.
-Then, you were there and said,
“I love you forever,”
-And wrapped me in your love so deep.
-I don’t need any other man.
-I need you. The one God promised.
-I’m no longer alone.
-I no longer have to live life on my own!
-You’re always with me just as God promised.
