nothing seemed to stick around
and when you thought it just might,
the love crashed even harder
it never made sense
because it never even began
life didn’t exist
it was dead from the beginning
so it was never real
we allowed our own fantasies
to play tricks on our minds
and we fell for it
we fell straight to the bottom
and died once more
it started to become a game
a psychological and manipulative
mind fuck of a game
where our demons got the best of us
and we stayed trapped for years
in this thing called love
so i can't love you anymore
not this time, not ever again
because surely nothing lasts forever
