The sun is finally out, and this time I can feel it
As it’s rays warm my barren skin, hope arises within me once again
Formerly, this would frighten me because once the sun went to sleep
My soul would turn as dark as the sky
But now I know, even if the stars don’t shine for light
I will be at peace
I am all I need
The trees may allow shade from the sun’s luminosity
But I will no longer grieve
For I have my own heat
So, as the sun sets, and the coldness settles in
I will not
Let the night’s demons
Be my friend
