I Am There

When you were in the hospital because you were premature - I was there

When your sickness made you scream in pain - I was there

When they said you could come home - I was there

When you wake up in the night needing a change or food - I am there

When you cry because your mouth hurts from teething - I am there

When you're having trouble falling asleep - I am there

When you're in a wonderful mood, and giggling all day long - I am there

When you finally figure out how that new toy works - I am there

When you just simply need company, or a hug - I am there

When you learn to walk, or talk - I will be there

When you go to school - I will be there

When you find out how mean other people can be - I will be there

When you experience heartbreak - I will be there

When you find love - I will be there

When you're finally all grown up, and your own person - I will be there

I was there during your most trying times thus far, I am there for your strenuous growth, and I will be there for every other hardship

I was there for your happiest times thus far, I am there to make you laugh, and I will be there for everything else that will make you happy

As your mother, I will always be there
