Hustle Culture

Hustle culture

Chop, chop, chop

Goes the chant in your head;

Quick, quick, quick

Losing pace in this race

Bam, bam, bam

Hammers heart in your chest

Please, please, please

Is it Friday yet?

Legs give out

And the run never ends

And don’t you stop

You’ll lose your place.

It’s crazy – not your job

But the hours that you work

And the hours that you spend

Thinking of going back there

And the weekends that you waste

On the stuff about which

You don’t really care.

Meeting people you don’t like

Going places that don’t feel right

Doing things and don’t know why.

And you can’t ever pause

So you don’t get to stop

And ask yourself: “why?”
