Humanity’s relationship with nature is a sweet and sour story A constant struggle and tug of war for dominance Humanity was given the responsibility of caring for his earthly home But nature’s account of man’s stewardship is bittersweet
A tale of pollution, deforestation, desertification, erosion, and man-made disasters Extinct species, poaching, over-fishing, bush fires, and extreme hunting Global warming, melting glaciers, ozone depletion, fog, and smog Quarrying, industrial pollution, plastic waste pollution, and nuclear disasters
With almost morbid humor Humanity has destroyed forests to produce paper And print ‘Save the forests’ or ‘Adopt extinct species’ Humanity has destroyed natural wonders and pristine natural habitats To glorify artificial man-made creations Humanity has hunted endangered species for meat Then lamented at ecosystem imbalances
Nature has waited patiently for proper treatment and proper conduct But like an unappreciated woman, she has removed her protecting hand And ravages of Flood, Hurricanes, Tornados, Mudslides, and Drought Wildfires, Storms, Volcanic eruptions, Earthquakes, and Tsunamis Cyclones, Typhoons, Heatwaves, Blizzards, and Cloudbursts Have been the devastating results
But man’s high crime is bloodshed The marring of nature with the blood of countless wars, murders, manslaughters, suicides, femicides, executions, genocides, infanticides, The crying out of land and sea With the weight of spilled blood of countless ages The gnarled fingers pointing at Man as the chief culprit
This macabre dance thus continues A list of suffering eternities long Man’s tussle and Nature’s overwhelming force A tale as old as time Documented by generations for the coming ages
