Hugs to Haphephobia

Never thought I'd see the day ... when kindness could kill you.

Haphephobia ...the fear of being touched.

Hugs to Haphephobia

The entire world is getting pounded.

No warning. No words. We are left powerless and astounded.

Forced to face this reality we've found, Suddenly we are crossing new ground.

Without the creature comforts -- no more protective shroud.

Like a stubborn horse, we are broken, bowed ... To some invisible force, afraid to say it aloud.

Tears in our eyes, we can do nothing but frown.

As the terms "social distancing" and "six feet apart" are forever around.

No more sense of community, alone we cower. Succumbing to some unknown power.

We used to be loud, proud, convicted as we vowed

There is power in numbers ... But that notion is no longer allowed. Suddenly three really IS a crowd. Weddings, funerals, everything important is suddenly disallowed.

We each stand alone, lack of a crowd. Our unity is disavowed.

Grew up Jewish and my name MEANS Christmas. I am a dichotomy!

I'm a delight. What more do you need to know?
