The power of friendship

How to Live

Going through the motions

Without any notions

Of taking on any life change.

*

Then you came along,

And you sang a new song,

With ideas of a different range.

*

You became my true friend,

Helped me learn how to mend,

And believe in the power of good.

*

In your arms, I am free

To accept the real me,

And now - finally - I'm understood.

*

I get caught in your gaze.

I've been smiling for days.

As we seek to find new ways to give.

*

At last, I've begun

To experience fun.

In short, you've shown me how to live.
