A

Hope of

Some to one day

Rise steadily above

Adversity to own a home.

Building in their mind a labor of love,

Like an emperor's grandiose dream of Rome.

A childish wish for a world - not just a roof above.

Worlds where they are themselves, alone, and free.

Like they found a place they belonged to,

Like a fish in its brook, or a bird in its tree.

A great experience as those around you knew,

Seeing everyone else, until one day – it was you.
