I gave my heart up to you,

Not knowing what you had planned.

I gave my all to you,

Not seeing that you were tearing me apart.

You gave me my heart back,

With it still beating, but broken.

You gave me who I was back,

Destroying who I’ve become.

Now I lay down in this coffin,

My eyes closed, but facing Heaven.

Now my heart lays still,

But yet, it still yearns for you.

I feel the softest of rose petals,

I can feel my heart flutter.

I feel the thorns prick my skin,

I can feel my heart stop again.

I gave my heart to you,

And in the end, you give me flowers.
