With eyes like ambers,

the one with the heart of Topaz;

Inherited intelligence and affection.

His heart imperial grade

tailor made for mine

His calm demeanor

brings balance to my anger—

His hugs turn my fears invisible!

Past lovers,

may have taken his heart for granted

Topaz what a gem,

carelessly tossed into life’s large

mortar and pestle.

Grinding his hopes

into a fine powder,

remedy

for a good nights sleep...

She says fear not,

for this powder will turn to wine!

Raise a goblet to the heavens

For on this day,

a prince was born

with eyes like ambers,

and a heart of Topaz.
