Hear Her Cries By Looking In Her Eyes

She knows what she wants

She knows what she wants but can she find it

A special person that is in tune with her being,

The one that has all the chosen characteristics

Oh to be on the same page without disagreeing.

***

She will not talk to anyone who just won’t listen

Nor will she cry in front of one who cannot feel,

She will not laugh if they’ve no sense of humour

In fact no credence will be given if they’re not real.

***

There’s someone out there that’s as crazy as her

Who can listen with their eyes, love with their ears,

A smile can be made known with just their fingers

And remember they can stand upon all her fears.

***

She’ll know them when they meet by their busy mind

And hear their thoughts just by looking in their eyes,

They in turn will know her heart with just one glance

And both will be in tune to the uncovering disguise.

***

But her ultimate aim is to silence their loneliness

And harken a set of rules that’ll be their final test,

If they can hear her cries by looking into her eyes

They’ll find the key to where she can be loved best.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
