Hail to the Window, the Tree, the Sun!
ED 7/21/22, edited 8/11/22
The cold interior of my lifeless house
Is warmed by the Son
The trees intercept the strongest rays
Before the day has begun
But who should consider the sunshine
With the blackened, burnt walls surrounding?
Hail to the Window, who lets the Light in
And makes plain all the blessings abounding!
Dressed in blue, curtains of lace
Fall elegantly to the floors
Warm glass panes without labor pains
Are the eye to the soul outdoors
But even the Tree brings relief
The Protector gives shade from harsh glory’s light
The dancing leaves ripple the rays
And bring to the senses delight
He gently hovers over the Window
Brushing branches against her face
I revel in the love they share
And receive their outpouring of grace.
