Families flock to the church,

Their stomachs lurch,

Their hearts stop when bullets begin to pop,

A senseless act of killing.

Leaves their families lives reeling.

A pregnant mother gone.

3 of her children's blood staining the lawn.

The killer always flees.

Citizens attempt to impeed.

He drove his car into a ditch.

All this to scratch an itch.

A bullet in his brain.

No one involved will be the same.

So it goes.

The atmosphere is buzzing,

Country music fills the air.

A gunman lurks in his lair.

He lets fire rain down.

Intended to let the happy people drown.

A man tries to save the others by pushing them away.

A man gets shot when he chooses to stay.

They say laws are meant to obey.

They say laws are meant to keep crazy at bay.

But 58 people were slaughtered.

Mothers, brothers, and daughters.

The killer was found dead.

Families plan funerals filled with dread.

So it goes.
