Grow me a tree
Plant the seed
Grow me,
Water me with knowledge
Embrace me in your garden
Let me stand in the sun
Let me shower in the rain
Sit under me for shade
I will wrap my branches around you
Surrounding you with growth, knowledge and love
Months will pass
Years will pass
I will grow
We will grow
I will still stand in the same place that you grew me, watered me and embraced me.
But you will walk away.
You will sit under other trees.
Even though it should be only me.
It will never be only me.

It Only Took One Minute.......
It only took a minute. I was sitting at the computer in my office when the phone rang. I picked up the receiver and then laid it down my desk as I went to find the student who the call was for. Within seconds I was back at my desk, ready to resume typing, when I heard the student yelling obscenities at me for listening in to his call through the handset that was still lying on the desk. Sick and tired of the lies he was spewing, I was up running down the hall, ready to kill him. By the time I reached him, I had calmed enough not to hurt him, but as I turned back towards my room, I knew that I couldn’t go on like this any longer. The decision was clear. I had to leave.

Gossamer
"Murray! Wake up!" He loved that period between waking and dreaming. To him, it was like entering another dimension; more of a dreamscape than dreaming itself. There was an otherness to it that he wanted to grasp and yet deeply respected the fact that it could never be his totally. This is what gossamer was; flighty and light, a wisp of smokiness, an idea suggested but not fully revealed, a slit in cloth, a copse in the wood.
