Grief is like a River
We find strength in every situation
Grief is like a river,
Flowing deep and wide,
Sometimes calm and peaceful,
Other times a raging tide.
It starts with a trickle,
A single tear that falls,
And soon turns into a downpour,
As sorrow overwhelms.
The current carries memories,
Of the one we've lost so dear,
And though we try to fight it,
We cannot control the sheer.
But eventually, the water calms,
And the waves begin to still,
Leaving us with a sense of peace,
A sense of hope and will.
For though the river may be endless,
And the pain may never cease,
We learn to ride the currents,
And find moments of release.
So let the river flow,
And feel the grief it brings,
For in its ebb and flow,
We find strength in all things.
