Going Mad

What does it mean to go mad?

How do you go mad properly?

If you are going to go mad

do it beautifully.

.

Do it

dressed your best.

.

Do it

with a flower

in your hair.

.

Do it with your

true self,

authentically exposed.

.

Do it sunsplashed

with sacred fire

glowing around

.

your heart.

your mind,

your soul.

.

Don't hold back.

.

Take

what you are,

who you are,

push it all in.

.

Do it with style.

Do it riding on the edge

.

of greatness.

.

But not quite making it.

Then washing out

.

hard, giving it your all

but trying,

on a hopeless cause,

which only you

care about.

.

Then laugh

when the dice

doesn't land your way.

.

Then take

what's left,

.

rebuild.

.

If it’s going to be

a waste of time,

be naive enough

to try anyway.

.

Try and fail.

But fail greatly.

.

Then having done so,

knowing

.

you at least attempted

to transcend

and can die

with the peace,

.

of knowing

.

there was truly

no other way.
