Ghost

I’ve spent my days waiting,

Lingering in front of the window.

Watching the faceless folk walk by.

I hide behind the translucent curtains,

Anticipating to see a glance of your shadow.

The desire for you to come back,

Is devouring my core,

Bubbling inside the remains of my hollow body.

With the glossy band,

Bitterly cold against my skin,

I remember the vow you made.

But I think that it was more of a fair-weather concept.

Pulling the shade closed,

Hearing the light tink of your deceitful oath rolling off my body,

I’ve discarded my perception of our affection.

Abandoning the thought of you ever returning,

As I sit in the murky midnight of your ghost.
