I feel like a ghost
Of my former self
Can’t shake the feeling
That I am completely lost
Within this world
Within myself
I snap at those around me
For no particular reason
I’m tired
I’m burnt out
But nobody can see
Because I hide it so well
‘I’m all good, how are you?’
Not a soul suspects
That I’m screaming inside
A caged bird
Needing to be set free
To fly up high
And soar around the world
To live a simple life
To not buy things
To ease the pain
That I cannot express
In my heart
I know I can rise
