A breakup poem.

I let you go.

I did it.

The scary part is over.

Now for the painful part -

The part where I slowly but precisely sever the emotional, physical, and unseen bond that I created with you.

The part where I cover up the scars on my heart and build back up the walls I just tore down -

I ignore every text from you, each more painful than the last. And I block you on every social media platform. Not out of spite but because I just can’t stand to see your face.

A face I’ve held so close to my own.

I loved you.
