We all experience both pain and joy

Pain is the blackness of carbon,
And iron the joy that we feel
Placed in the fire of hardships,
Together, creates stronger steel.
—
Pain on its own makes us brittle,
Hard, and easily broken down.
Joy is much softer, not rigid,
More forgiving, and more unbound.
—
Joy and pain mingled, united,
Are more than the sum of their parts.
By welding them both together,
We forge resilience in our hearts.
—
So, let joy temper your sorrows
While understanding that, in time,
The finish will all be worth it,
In the magnificent Sublime.
