For My Daughters

When the days sunlight is covered by clouds

And the night as black as can be

You must walk by faith and not by sight

Because at times it’s hard to see

And when life beats you down and friends can’t be found

And you’re searching for places to hide

His promise is true He will carry you

And never leave your side

And when you’re ground to dust and there’s no one to trust

And the seconds feel cold and demanding

You must trust in the Lord with all your heart

And lean not on your own understanding

And on those days you can’t lift your head

And each time you rise you fall

Know these momentary troubles are achieving for you

A glory that far outweighs them all
