Fog

Heavy and thick

Fog;

That perpetual weight that holds spirits in check.

The thick mist halts progression and breeds content ineptitude.

Seeking out the haze instead of goals, it surrounds and suffocates.

A self-supplied obstacle that halts progression.

//

The dark gloom is full of flashing lights that attract and distress.

Goals close enough to touch held back by an abstract smog.

Trying to break free feels like wading through knee high mud.

The cloud encompasses life, consuming the well intentioned.

//

Fog machines fueled by the industry of distraction.

Providing nothing that is consumed like oxygen.

Seeing through the veil of dirt, a step forward.

Goals must be placed before the inversion.

//

We cannot hope to become anything if we continually pump fuel into the machines.

Our goals must be more important than the net of meaningless entertainment.

    Interesting work. I like the line about the "industry of distraction" - is that not exactly the world we are living in?

    This actually spoke to me, especially the turn with machines. Thank you.
