Flower

Musings

To enjoy a flowers beauty you leave it to live and grow,

You watch it blossom through storms and survive in the snow.

If you pick it and take it up from out of the earth,

How can you know its true beauty? How can you know its worth?

Simply said, it will last a short time and then wither and die,

And when you come to the realisation that you are the sole reason you will wonder why.

Leave the flower and let it take root and bloom,

Don't be the reason you bring upon it its doom.

Nurture and care for it and water it with kindness and love,

But do not presume that this will just be enough.

You may need to support it and encourage it to blossom,

So that when it does at its own pace, its sweet aroma will leave you numb.

All good things take time to become the best they can be,

So let the flower take its time to blossom and grow and its beauty you will see.
