Poetry for the soul

Feeling homeless with a house

Didn’t begin in the years of my self doubt

Rather, before my tears turned to droughts

Numbed to the disfunction

A fear that was unknown

Before leaving your home

Never thinking I was alone

The same house,

But different bones

Watched as I grew from the ashes

When I was too young to cash it

Debts passed down for me to outlive

Made room in my heart to forgive

For the pieces you broke and chipped,

By the love they forgot to give,

And all the lies on how to live.
