Faces

Now that no one is around,

My true self must be found.

Living in a world where we must pretend.

Being not "me" his life one must spend.

Masks on masks they pile and pile.

Good, bad, happy or sad each with a different style.

My own face I now forget.

The masks on my face, has begun to set.

In these faces, my face I lost.

For pretending, I paid a steep cost.

People change or so I heard.

Perhaps, many by same fate spurned.

Today someone is truly no one.

Why? Does anyone care? Anyone?

I don't know if you'd want me to care.

Which reality to you would be fair?

A deer wouldn't eat a carcass,

No more than a lion eating grass.

So now we all just play along.

The world now is just a play, detailed and long.
