Only I may enter here
Where the beginning of the road is also the rear
Where despair and joy find their place
Next a toothy grin and tears on a face
This is where my hope is found
But also where all hope is lost
Where depression has forced me down to the ground
And laughter has a deadly cost
Come share a stare, onlooker there
Beneath the pretense the world isn’t fair
Exhibit A lies before you now
To stare and poke and prod with a scowl
But I’d challenge you, before you leave
When my end has come and you start to grieve
To think of now before I left
And the way that you gawked at me as I wept
