Empowered

Moving across the nation, leaving behind all that I know to come to a place where I know very few. People say that's strength.

Caring for an aging parent, a dying parent, a fading away adult while maintaining your own family and your own sanity. People say that is strength too.

Working, raising a child, feeding and clothing them when you're single. That's what people call strong.

When you're beside, rushing into emergency rooms, when you're holding the hands of those deemed near dead while you rescue others and bring them back to life. People say that's strength.

When you're broken, down hearted, defeated within but you keep pushing yourself to keep going; to keep doing; to keep being; to never stop and let the darkness win. People say that's strength.

When you come to your knees, when you pray your prayers, when you feed your soul with the Bible, when you sing songs of revival and restoration. People say that's strength.

When you sit back and watch the world turn, watch the way it works, and make an effort to change what is going to happen. People say that's strength.

When you stand, and fight for the truth and what is right...
